Boko Haram members attacked a military base in Metele village, Guzamala local government area of Borno State on Monday, November 19, 2018, killing 100 soldiers.
A Twitter user has identified the soldier captured alive in the recently released Boko haram video as his father.
Tweeting from the handle, @bet0211, he gave his father’s name as WO (Warrant Officer) Festus Oluwayinka, adding that the incident happened in August 2018.
Towards the end of the video that has gone viral on social media, the terrorists are seen pushing a man in military uniform pleading for his life.
He said “In the just released video by the Boko Haram/ ISWAP, my father is the soldier seen by captured by the Boko Haram..this incident happened on the 30th of August,2018... Nothing yet from the army as per is whereabouts."
100 soldiers reportedly killed
According to reports, Boko Haram members attacked a military base in Metele village, Guzamala local government area of Borno State on Monday, November 19, 2018, killing 100 soldiers.
This is happening despite claims by the Federal Government and Army authorities that the terror group has been defeated.
According to a soldier who survived the incident, the terrorists levelled the military base with their superior weapons.
Narrating what happened to Premium Times, he said “The fight did not last for more than 45 minutes, but it was bloody because the Boko Haram fighters had more armament advantage than the soldiers.
