Rate of poverty: Buhari should match words with action ― Ohanaeze

Ohanaeze Ndigbo in its reaction to the President Mohammadu Buhari’s concern on the growing rate of poverty in Nigeria said that the government was not really serious that it was concerned on the escalated rate of poverty in the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari speaking during the breaking of Ramadan fast with members of the federal executive council, service chiefs and heads of MDGs at the Presidential Banquet hall State House, Monday night in Abuja.
The apex Igbo body said that talk was cheap and urged President Buhari to match his words with action, other than a shallow exhibition of concern when indeed insecurity has contributed significantly in making most Nigerians poor.

Media and Publicity Adviser to the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emeka Attama, in reaction to the President’s speech said “He (President Buhari) is not serious about addressing the issue of poverty in a state of insecurity in the country.
“There is no way people cannot be poor when their sources of wealth have been destroyed by insecurity; when there is a high level of unemployment and per capita income is very low. All these are integrated and no one can stand in isolation of the other. “People cannot give their best to grow the economy in hostile environments. There is more to eradicating poverty than mere lip service. The president should match his words with action. “The banks are not giving loans except by high margins that cannot be afforded by the very ordinary citizen, so how do you expect people not to be poor. Mr President should better be serious about eradicating poverty other than mere talk.”

Eleven signs that you are falling in love

Knowing youre in love feels different for everyone. Some have been in love often and know the feeling well, and others may be not so sure if its love or just a deep infatuation.
Luckily, your body has some pretty sneaky ways of tipping you off to whether these feelings for your partner are more than just a passing phase. Keep an eye out for these tell-tale signs the next time you catch yourself wondering if youre actually in love.
You cant stop staring at them.
If your partner has ever caught you staring at them lovingly, it could be a sign that youre head over heels. Eye contact means that youre fixated on something, so if you find that your eyes are fixed on your partner, you may just be falling in love.
Studies have also found that couples who lock eyes report feeling a stronger romantic connection than those who dont. It goes the other way too: when a study had strangers lock eyes for minutes at a time, they reported romantic feeling towards each other.
You feel like youre high.
Its completely normal to feel out of your mind when falling for someone.
A study from the Kinsey Institute found that the brain of a person falling in love looks the same as the brain of a person who has taken cocaine. You can thank dopamine, which is released in both instances, for that feeling.
This is a good explanation for why people in new relationships can act absolutely nonsensically.
You always think about them.
If you love someone, you may feel like you cant get them off of your mind. Thats because your brain releases phenylethylamine, aka the “love drug” when you fall in love with someone. This hormone creates the feeling of infatuation with your partner.
You may be familiar with the feeling because phenylethylamine is also found in chocolate, which may explain why you cant stop after just one square.
You want them to be happy.
Love is an equal partnership, but youll find someones happiness becomes really important to you when youre falling for them.
So-called “compassionate love” can be one of the biggest signs of a healthy relationship, according to research. This means that youre willing to go out of your way to make your partners life easier and happier.
If you find yourself going out of your way to keep your partner dry when walking in the rain or making them breakfast on a busy weekday morning, its a sign youve got it bad.
Youve been stressed lately.
Although love is often associated with warm and fuzzy feelings, it can also be a huge source of stress. Being in love often causes your brain to release the stress hormone cortisol, which can lead you to feel the heat.
So if youve noticed your patience is being tested a little more than normal or youre kind of freaking out, you may not need to carry a stress ball just yet; you may just be in love.
You dont feel pain as strongly.

Falling for someone might be painful, but if youve noticed that literally falling doesnt bother you as much anymore, it could be a big sign youre in love.

A study conducted by the Stanford University School of Medicine had participants stare at a photo of someone they loved and found that act could reduce moderate pain by up to 40%, and reduced severe pain by up to 15%.

So if youre getting a tattoo, you may want to keep a photo of your partner handy. Just in case.

Youre trying new things.

Everyone wants to impress their date in the beginning of their relationships, but if you find yourself consistently trying new things that your partner enjoys, you may have been bitten by the love bug.

In fact, a study found that people who have claimed to be in love often had varied interest and personality traits after those relationships. So even if you hate that square-dancing class youre going to with your partner, it could have a positive effect on your personality.

Your heart rate synchronizes with theirs.

Your heart may skip a beat when you think about the one you love, but a study showed that you may also be beating in time with each other. A study conducted by the University of California, Davis, suggests that couples hearts begin to beat at the same rate when they fall in love.

Although you may not be able to tell if this has happened without a few stethoscopes, feeling a deep connection to your partner is a good a sign as any that

Tottenham scored three second-half goals to reach their first Champions League final

Tottenham scored three second-half goals to reach their first Champions League final

Lucas Moura scored a dramatic 96th-minute winner to cap an astonishing Tottenham fightback against Ajax and set up an all-English Champions League final against Liverpool.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Spurs made the worst possible start in Amsterdam when a towering fifth-minute header by 19-year-old Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt doubled the advantage for Erik ten Hag's exciting young side.
Tottenham hit the post through Son Heung-min before Hakim Ziyech doubled Ajax's lead on the night with a sweeping finish after an assist by former Southampton winger Dusan Tadic.
That left Spurs 3-0 behind on aggregate yet, in another pulsating semi-final, Mauricio Pochettino's side scored twice within five minutes in the second half.
Moura reduced the deficit with a composed finish before the Brazilian's shot on the turn levelled the scores on the night and left Spurs requiring one goal to reach the final in Madrid on 1 June.
In a frantic finish, Vertonghen headed against the bar before Moura completed his hat-trick with a left-foot shot from 16 yards deep into stoppage time on a famous night for Spurs.
It will be the second all-English Champions League final after Manchester United beat Chelsea on penalties in Moscow in 2008.

Unforgettable night for battling Spurs

Pochettino could not contain his emotions at the final whistle and shed tears of joy as he celebrated wildly with his players on the pitch.
The Argentine, who celebrates his fifth anniversary in charge of Spurs later this month, was on his knees after a night that rivalled the jaw-dropping drama of Liverpool's incredible semi-final victory over Barcelonaon Tuesday.
Harry Kane, who is still recovering from an ankle injury, also joined his team-mates on the pitch as they celebrated in front of their 2,500 travelling fans.
Spurs looked dead and buried when Ziyech made it 3-0 on aggregate before half-time yet they somehow pulled themselves together to reach a first Champions League final.
Moura was the inspiration, producing three clinical finishes, the third after former Ajax player Vertonghen headed against the bar from four yards with four minutes of normal time remaining.
